“Really?” Nnamdi asked his son in a bid to make him talk more.

“Yes Dad, but I want to beat him both in wealth and fame..just that I am worried about what my friends said that Christian music will not make me famous and rich..” Nnaemeka complained bitterly and just then they sighted Chizaram and her children coming so Nnamdi knew that he would not be able to address the matter in details right there.

“You know what son?
Your friends lied, singing Christian songs doesn’t make one a local musician and you can be greater than that worldly musician that is worth 30 billion naira both in fame and in wealth.

Look, I don’t want to answer your questions in a hurry, as you can see your mom and your siblings are already coming back and I don’t want them to hear our conversation. I want it to be between us.

So this is what we are going to do, I am going to take only you out so we can discuss it very well but I want to give you an assignment first, if you finish doing the assignment let me know then we would go out together and talk, just you and I. Is that okay?” He asked the boy who was already beaming at the idea of going out with his father.

“Yes Dad. What’s the assignment all about?” He asked excitedly.

“Okay.. That’s my boy, I know you will do the assignment very fast because you’re a smart boy.

When we get home, tell Mummy that I said she should give you a brand new 60leaves notebook for my assignment and in the notebook write out the following for me.

1.Why do you want to become a music evangelist or a musician?

  1. What’s the origin of music?

3.Write out the names of the top 10 circular/worldly musicians you know and admires.

  1. Write out the names of the top 10 Christian musicians you know and admires.

  2. How did these top 10 circular musicians and Christian musicians get to where they are, what’s their secret?” Nnamdi was still talking when Chizaram and the children arrived and Nmasinachi hurriedly brought something to give her brother Nnaemeka and disrupted them in the process.

“Nnaemeka, Nnaemeka take your own..” She ran into their conversations and Nnamdi smiled at the way he frowned at his sister.

“Don’t worry son, when you get the notebook I will repeat the assignment questions for you, okay..?” He assured him and the boy nodded, breathing down as others joined them.

“Hey! Father and Son, are we not ready to go home yet?
You can as well finish your discussion at home..” Chizaram said smiling at them.

“Yeah, we’re ready to go home.” Nnamdi replied laughing.

“Mom, Dad said you should give me a brand new 60leaves notebook for my assignment when we get home..” Nnaemeka informed his mother.

“Alright my darling, I will do that.” She replied then looked towards Nmasinachi who was feeding her father chips in his mouth.

“Father and daughter feeding each other, can we get going already?” Chizaram said teasingly as she stared at them with a feigned jealousy.

“Darling, let’s go, mummy is jealous..” Nnamdi whispered into Nma’s ear and they both started laughing.

“Nma, what did your Dad say? Tell me now or I will seize everything I got for you.” Chizaram threatened the girl playfully to see if she can betray the special love she has for her father for once.

“Please, don’t do that mom, Dad was only joking..” She replied looking from her father to her serious looking mother and Nnamdi was just laughing at them.

“That’s not what I asked you, I said, what did your daddy tell you?” Chizaram pressed hard on the tensed up girl who looked confusedly from both of them as Nnamdi stood up from his seat.

“Don’t worry sweetheart, am I not worth the whole world to you?” Nnamdi asked, searching the little girl’s eye and she nodded in the positive, taking sides with her father and Chizaram bursted into a defeated laughter.

“Nma, you don’t love me right?
No, I know Nnamdi and Nnaemeka loves me and Jesus loves me too..” She said amidst laughter as they left the private eatery.

“I love you too, mom..” Nma shouted out still clinging to her father as they walked in the way…

Immediately they arrived home that evening, while others were collecting their things from the shopping bag, Nnaemeka was busy disturbing his mother to give him the notebook so his father can dictate the assignment for him again before he becomes busy and immediately the book got into his hand, he went and knocked on the door of his parents bedroom to see his father.

That was the first time he was getting so fond of relating with him so closely, he used to prefer Uchenna over his father because he felt that his father was too busy and didn’t have his time but Uchenna gives him attention and carried him along with himself wherever he went.

They were still in the bedroom upstairs talking about the assignment when a knock came on the door. It was Uchenna who had just arrived Nnamdi’s house with his pregnant wife that was knocking and the moment Nnaemeka heard Uchenna’s voice outside the door, he jumped down from the bed and rushed out to answer the door shouting in excitement.

“Uncle Uchenna!!!!!” Nnaemeka was shouting at the top of his voice in excitement as he opened the door and jumped over his body…..
